October 2017 Newsletter Thanks to Kristen Gentry! Our September reading with Kristen Gentry was a lovely event. Thanks to everyone who came out to Kristen's reading, and thanks to Kristen for being a part of Words on the Verge. Fall 2017 Preview

Words on the Verge Returns  September 30th  Words on the Verge is pleased to announce that our first feature for the 2017-2018 season is Kristen Gentry. Join us at 5pm on September 30th, 2017 at  Different Path Gallery,  27 Market St., Brockport, NY 14420. Kristen Gentry is from Louisville, Kentucky and received her MFA from Indiana University. She currently lives in Rochester, NY near SUNY Geneseo where she is an associate professor of English and the director of creative writing. She is also a member of We All Write, a black women’s writing collective. Her short stories have appeared in  Crab Orchard Review, Jabberwock Review,  and other journals. She is at work completing  Mama Said,  a collection of linked stories that explore mother-daughter relationships strained by the mothers’ drug addictions. View this email in your browser Summer Newsletter   Thank You Kathy Weston & Karen Faris Katherine Weston transformed  Different Path Gallery  into "Wonderland Warren" for our June 16th reading with Karen Faris.The audience was filled to capacity and each person was transfixed by Kathy's lovely sculpture and Karen's captivating story.We were graced with musical entertainment (thanks to Karen's talented son Duncan), good food and wine, and great company. June Newsletter

June Newsletter   Thank You Gabrielle Lewis We had a lovely night on May 20th. Gabrielle shared her beautiful poems with the Words on the Verge audience and enchanted everyone. She read her work with humor, grace, and deep emotion. It was a special night. Thank you Gabby!  June 16th Words on the Verge featuring Karen Faris “Bunnies in Wonderland,” is a story by Karen Faris that was inspired by Katherine Weston's clay sculptures.  Faris will read her story at this season's final Words on the Verge event on Fri., June 16 from 6:30 – 8:30pm. Karen Faris is a poet and novelist and the author of  Grumbles the Novel .  Her work has appeared in  aaduna ,  Empty Sink Publishing ,  rewritingmarysue.com , and she is a contributor to the book-design journal  Spine . A stint on the Irondequoit Conservation Board informs much of her work and has led her to sneak in environmental education wherever she can.  S
